I rode one and didn't realize it. When I was in the Twin Cities, I was at a friend's house. After a couple beers, I thought I would antagonize my friend and proclaimed, "I'm going to ride your crappy bike". Little did I know she had a fixy.
Also, in the Twin Cities, there is a bike club where they ride 6 foot tall bikes with no brakes. They are really good at timing traffic lights and getting the attention of the police.
